Champion Chicken Skewers Recipe and The Paleo Pals Have Arrived!!

Today is the official release date of Paleo Pals, Jimmy and the Carrot Rocket Ship!  Although Paleo Pals is a storybook for kids, I also threw in a small handful of recipes at the back of the book so that the kiddos can get right into the kitchen after reading the story!  If you haven’t seen the reviews that have been popping up yet for Paleo Pals, there are plenty here on Amazon and several bloggers who received advanced copies have shared their thoughts on the book as well.  Here’s the list of folks who have reviewed the book on their websites; all with interesting things to say regarding their personal reactions to Paleo Pals.

    1. Thank you Stacy!

  2. I posted to your last blog about the release, but I didn’t see it show up so I’ll say it again and maybe I’ll be redundant. Sorry if you see these comments twice, but I have to say:
    We loved you book!!!
It arrived last night and we all sat down to read it on the sofa. One kid on each side of me, snuggled close to listen to the adventure. They are ages 6 & 8. They felt bad for Jimmy’s mom when he wouldn’t eat the food she had prepared. They were disgusted by the snack factory and felt proud that we bring home our veggies from our local CSA / farmers’ market. When we had finished reading, the kids couldn’t wait to eat their paleo dinner!
I had tried to explain everything in the book to them before, but true or not, it just wasn’t the same coming from mom.
The only “problem” was they couldn’t wait to read the next installment in the Paleo Pals adventure!
Thank you for a wonderful way to share the benefits of a healthy lifestyle with my kids in a way that engaged them! We will pull this book out again! (The next time they as me: why we are doing this?)

  3. We received our copy yesterday afternoon from Amazon. My 7-yr-old read it before bed last night. She really enjoyed it and has already asked if we could make some of the recipes together this week. Of course I said yes. Thanks so much and congrats!

  4. I am so excited to see this book launched. A real milestone in the paleo movement, if you ask me. Congratulations. I look forward to the board game and even the video game. However we can get our kids involved in paleo has got to be good!

  5. We got the book in the mail today. My son (age 5) was excited about it! He read it first by himself and then let me read it to him. He really enjoyed the book. He is excited to start making some of the recipes too. He wanted to know if I was cooking a “real paleo meal” for dinner and was happy when I told him I was. He told me I made a good dinner and he liked the good food I made. He’s generally a good eater and likes the foods we give him, but I think this book helps him to feel excited about the way we eat, understand why we eat this way and to feel proud of eating healthy foods.

    1. Fantastic! Thank you for the kind words. I’m thrilled for you and for your soon – This is what I wanted the book to be all about 🙂 You put a smile on my face this morning, for sure!

  6. Best wishes for success. By the way, I think the power in this book is the recipes and involving kids in making meals (ownership and investment). I’m really looking forward to trying some myself, actually, especially the zucchini pizzas and the egg thingies.

We received our book a few days ago and we couldn’t be happier! My boys, 6, 5, and 5 all enjoyed the book. We had them eating Paleo with us for dinner already, but; lunches and dinners were often not. Now they are excited and interested in what Paleo is and how to pick foods that are healthy for their body! The apple sandwiches were a super hit and an easy lunchbox recipe! (I loved them for myself minus the raisins too) We also made the egg muffins (and doubled the recipe of course) and they were gone in 24 hours! The boys helped me make the pancakes. They were a total success! We added a tad of cashew butter on top and the three boys ate the whole set of them in one sitting! Apple sauce is next on our list. We can’t wait!

I have a question though, are you no longer publishing the cookbook? We are really looking forward to it, so I really hope you still are.

PS– I love the EP book too, but; the boys really love the idea of a cookbook geared to wards them.

  8. Tried this recipe tonight. It is a great example of a delicious and simple paleo meal. I think people get overwhelmed at times thinking that it has to be hard, but it is really just so easy. I love being able to actually taste food, and not all the chemicals and such meant to make us think we are eating food. These skewers are just awesome. Thank you so much!

Thank you so much for the great book. We got it last week and we have read it several times. We all jumped into Paleo about a month ago and the kids have had lots of questions. They have done great with the transition and the book just helped them understand everything I had already told them. They all want to know if they can have a Paleo Pals t-shirt like Phoenix, Piper and Parker, since they eat like super heroes too. Thanks again for all the work you put into the book and the website. They have been very helpful in our journey.

Thanks for the chicken skewers recipe. This looks a great healthy supper dish.

Congratulations on the new book! I just know that this will be such a great thing for kids and their health. I just checked with my local library, and they do not have it! My daughter is 13, and loves to read, but this probably is a little too young for her. Anyway, she writes for the Denver Post, Colorado Kids Section and would love to do a review on Paleo Pals, Jimmy and the Carrot Rocket Ship, and then go into a story on what it is like to eat Paleo. This would reach quite a large audience….maybe the library will get it in soon?
    Anyway, Sarah you are fabulous!

We just purchased the Paleo Pals book and I was wondering when the Paleo Pals Cookbook will come out?
