Everyday Paleo Family Cookbook and Costco!!!

As many of you might already know, Costco began carrying my first book, Everyday Paleo, nationwide a few months ago and thanks to the success of Everyday Paleo, Costco is now interested in carrying my new book, the Everyday Paleo Family Cookbook!!  Costco is going to be conducting a “trial run” of the new book at several locations and it should be hitting the shelves TODAY!!  Below is a list of locations where you will be able to find both Everyday Paleo and my new book as well.  If you live close to one of these locations, let me know if you happen to see it on the shelves, let your friends and family know, and please help me convince Costco that they need to keep on carrying paleo books as this amazing lifestyle continues to become more mainstream and is changing lives!!  Thank you all so much for your continued support!  After the list of locations, I’ve also added a few Costco items that you can look for that are a great addition to paleo as well!

Paleo Food items to look for at Costco!

Wild Planet Canned Tuna

Wild Caught Canned Salmon

Frozen Wild Caught Salmon

Organic Frozen Blueberries

Organic Bagged Lettuce & Spinach

Sweet Potatoes and Yams

Organic Fruit

Avocados

Olives

Almond Butter

I’m sure there are other great finds, and if you know of any, please list what you buy in comments!  Yes, I am a huge supporter of buying local but having Costco as a supplier of staples for things like canned tuna, salmon and other bulk items is extremely useful and helpful, especially for larger families such as ourselves.

As always, enjoy!

  9. almonds, coconut oil, omega 3 fortified eggs (which are locally sourced as are many of the fruits & veggies at our Costco) – will be heading to Costco on Friday to get your book – thanks for the tip off!

  10. Bethanie says:

We get organic carrots, and organic chia seeds. Sometimes organic green beans. Also they have a large back of dried dates for a great price, although they aren’t organic. They also have organic hot dogs with no nitrates, but definitely not grass fed. Bulk certainly does help with larger families, or big eaters! I just wish we had the grass fed meats… maybe it will come to VA soon!!!!

I bought Everyday Paleo at my Costco near Boston when I saw it (eventhough I already had it) because I want Paleo books to sell well there. I’ll anxiously await the arrival of the new book to come to my Costco.

  13. Hope the East Coast gets with the program SOON. I bought your first book at my local Costco and waiting for them to stock the second. We also do not have Kerigold or Coconut Milk or Coconut oil – grrr

  14. Nancy Sperl says:

I have to admit, it made me PROUD of Costco (which I consider to be one of my favorite stores) when I saw your book on the shelf. Would have purchased it there, but already had it (and now have both) on my Kindle. I love living Paleo. Thank you for your help.

    1. Sarah says:

Thank you Nancy! I’m proud of Costco too…

  15. Wendy says:

I was at the Costco in Salt Lake City on Sunday, saw Everyday Paleo Family Cookbook, and had to buy it! I was so excited to see it there, I wanted to hold it up and shout to all the shoppers, “Look! It’s here! This will save your life!” but I just put it in the basket and continued shopping. I made sure it was conspicuous though. It was displayed beside Paleo Slow Cooking, which I also had to buy! Every time I see Everyday Paleo there, I stop and flip through it and think, “This is great. I hope everyone here picks up a copy.”

On other items, I found Kerrygold butter and need to stock up on that. One thing that gives me pause about shopping at Costco is that all of the products (including books) have been trucked in from sometimes long distances. I’m trying to be conscious of “where” stuff comes from, and am pretty amazed at how dependant I am on the whole oil culture. I’ve started buying local veggies and meat, but there’s so much that doesn’t grow here, like avocados and salmon, that I don’t think I’ll stop buying from Costco anytime soon, but I think it’s important that I be aware of what I’m doing.

I can’t wait to dig into your new book and try some new recipes, I’ve almost worn out your first book. Thanks for continuing to share with us your love of this life, it’s very fun to be a part of!

    1. Sarah says:

      I love it! Thank you!! : )

  16. eema gray says:

DAng! My Costco (Colorado Springs West) isn’t part of the trial run. Hopefully we’ll see it there in the next six months or so!

  17. Shannon says:

Is it any Canadian Costco stores?

    1. Sarah says:

Not that I know of yet but I’ll find out and let you know!

  18. Jacey says:

I have seen your first book at my Costco (Missoula, MT). I’ll have to check for your new one next time I’m there. Congratulations Sarah!

On another note, my mom was over and my daughter wanted her to read Paleo Pals. Now my mom is asking about Paleo Pals and it was the first time I’ve been able to talk about Paleo to her!

  19. Liane says:

How can we encourage other Costco stores to sell your books and some of the other items listed?
Not too long ago Michelle (nom-nom paleo) posted her favs, so I went hunting. And failed at gathering.

I spoke to a butcher about grass fed and he said demographic does not support. Low income predominant areas while not actual “food deserts” offer the worst food choices. In my area of Contra Costa County we have a predominately white bread and soda pop population. In fact before I went Paleo last year and was still eating grains I was hard pressed to find any whole wheat bread without HFCS. it’s sad that people who live in these areas cannot choose healthier foods even if they want to.

Diane Sanfillippo in her new book gives a guide for what to buy, when organic or pastured/grass fed is not available. That made me realize that while some of my choices could be better, that they are because of availability not due to my ignorance. Pressuring retailers for food choices that support a healthy lifestyle seems like a good thing to do! Even those who have their heads in the sand ( i.e. vegans/vegetarians) deserve to eat organic produce and other foods . Not sure what they eat, LOL, but I am sure they want organic versus GMO.

We all need to write letters to Costco and encourage them. Unlike fresh beef books don’t spoil. There is no shelf life so they are not going out on a limb to carry them.

I go to Costco for paper goods, kitty litter, laundry products etc about once a month. I will make a point of asking for the books.

The two stores within reasonable driving distance without a Motel 6 layover are those in Concord and Antioch, both in California.

BTW I finally found Pato brand red sauce. I love it diluted half strength with tomato sauce. Too spicy straight from the can.

  20. Molly says:

Judging this list, I would have to buy plane ticket to get ahold of one of your books, lol. Good thing I already have your other book Sarah =)

  21. Leslie says:

Yay! Just bought the book at my Costco yesterday and am enjoying it! Thank you for making Paleo even easier. Just recommended your book to my mom as her introduction to Paleo 🙂

  22. Trina says:

Just picked it up at Costco in Canada 🙂 You know who needs Paleo is the Food Network!

    1. Sarah says:

      I SO SO Agree!!! : )

  23. Heather says:

Are your books still at Costco? If so I will go there today! I’m near the Puyallup, WA location.

    1. Sarah says:

I think so, but you might want to call first to make sure. Thank you!!

  24. Chrissy says:

Everyday Paleo cookbook was available at the Waterbury Connecticut Costco!…too bad I already own it. This Costco also has a tub of coconut oil.

  25. Rachel says:

I was just at Costco in Lacey, WA yetserday and they had all the books mentioned above. I bought the 2 I didnt have and am excited to see what new recipes I can get my family to eat! I am new to this as this is my second week. First week was ok, but I can do better. Cutting out the bread was easy, it is the sugars that are doing me in. This week I am making the staples, mayo, Ketchup, and dips to toss out the crap in the fridge. We (My husband and I) are determined to do this. Thank you for this blog for the great ideas. I would never have thought costco would have cocunut oil or almond butter. I will head over there as well.
