My Review for The Paleo Coach

paleocoach

The Paleo Coach is written by a coach who for years has worked deep in the trenches. Jason shows up to work everyday with gusto, with drive, with one purpose and one purpose only – to get his job done and that job is to help YOU. Jason has an undeniable understanding and passion for what he does; something that doesn’t always shine through from those who work in this crazy business of helping folks find health.  Jason and I have worked closely together for two years now; and I have yet to see him become tired or complain about what he does.  Instead, Jason continues to learn, research, grow, help, and fight the good fight; every single day.  Simply put, this is why The Paleo Coach is going to change your life.  It was written by a man who wants you to succeed, and refuses to tiptoe around the subject or apologize for what he knows. I was honored when Jason asked me to write the forward for his book and obviously, Jason and I are friends and business partners but this fact does not mean that we always agree.  With that being said; please enjoy my unbiased review of his new book, about to be released on March 5th: The Paleo Coach.

In Chapter 1 of The Paleo Coach, you will NOT find a list of what to eat and what not to eat.  Instead; you’ll get a prescription of perspective.  Jason covers The Aesthetic Goal Conundrum and as I read this section, I realized that if I had been given the opportunity to read this book 10 years ago; my life would have been a heck of a lot easier.  Jason explains clearly how by simply shifting how we think about our goals; looking good can simply happen by accident.  SO TRUE!  Ladies and gentlemen, as Jason simply states; “…not all attractive bodies are small, and not all small bodies are attractive, but bodies that stay attractive for a lifetime are healthy bodies, so attempting to get smaller without getting healthier does not make sense.”  Hallelujah!!!  Jason continues to explain only in his own eyeopening way how You Can’t Fix a Body You Hate and how things like Yo Yo Dieting and severe caloric restriction is always a bad idea.  This section ends with an inspiring story from one of his very own clients, Pam.

Chapters 2-5 cover everything from how to “play” for the right reasons, i.e., Jason hits home the importance of not letting our emotions overrule our desire for success.  He also discusses The Balance Scale, Emotional Eating, and Scale Addiction.  Followed by Angela, the story of one of Jason’s clients that is so hard-hitting that I cry every time I read it.  You will also meet two other success stories that will blow your mind and give you confidence that you CAN do this.

The middle section of The Paleo Coach gives you the roots of how to make it all happen.  Jason discusses food how only Jason can discuss this subject.  There’s enough science to get the job done but it’s not just another paleo science book re-hashed.  Jason’s experience again shines through in this section and even I who thought to have read/heard it all learned a lot from this part of the book. I love his view on figuring out how to start and that it does not have to be all or nothing from the very beginning; but the important factor is that you get there.  I was happy to be able to contribute to this section and you will find recipes from our 21 Day Jump Start which is our nutrition guide on Everyday Paleo Lifestyle and Fitness.

Chapters 11-14 are Jason’s perspectives on Mid-Game Plays and Game Changers.  Thank you Jason for NOT making these chapters the first few in the book.  Jason stresses that you get your “paleo dialed first” and then offers advice as to how to “tweak the knobs” in order to reach your goals.  There’s not a lot of information out there like what’s offered in all of this book, especially in this section.  The section on cheating is one that I really enjoyed.  This is an area that Jason and I have not always agreed on, but I’ll admit that Jason’s perspective really makes good sense so I might even have to say that he wins this one.  I’ll let you read it to decide for yourself!

Chapters 13-18 is the meat and potatoes of the book. MOVE!!  There is so much more to this lifestyle than food and Jason leaves no stones unturned.  You have to trust your body enough to know how to use it and you’ll find an experts words of wisdom guiding you so that even the brand new beginner can feel confident that fitness needs to be a part of this whole factor.  Oh, and women; those of you afraid to lift weights for fear of turning into giant behemoths?  Wait until you read the section on women and muscle. LOVE this part is all I have to say…(more client pictures and stories included here as well…)

The last few chapters of the book addresses the fear that so many people have; it’s too late in the game, I’m too far gone or too old to make any sustainable changes. Jason pleads and than proves that it’s NEVER too late.  Your mind will be blown and you will be convinced once you meet Deb, Mike, Debbie, Tim, and Elane.

My final thoughts.  This book is for everyone. Even if you think you have it all figured out and that your “paleo is dialed” I challenge you to read this book and come away unfazed.  It won’t happen.  Everyone I’ve spoken to who has read this book has been beyond impressed, or even better, found the bits and pieces that they have needed to put this puzzle together.  My husband John sat down and devoured this entire book in 2 days.  His thoughts from the male perspective, “It’s a book that’s going to help get your head right, change how you approach the paleo lifestyle, and shed some light on how your previous approach may not have been as dialed as you think.  Jason puts it all together for you.  We shouldn’t be “doing” the Paleo Diet, but “living” the Paleo Lifestyle.”

Order The Paleo Coach today!!!  You will not regret it.

Now, in the words of Jason, “Go Forth and Be Awesome.”

I pre-ordered this book weeks ago. I am counting the days to delivery. Jason had me sold on this book when I read and heard him speak on intrinsic versus extrinsic goals. I wanted to be able to read his insight again and again to keep my head in the right place and not give up. Keep the awesomeness coming!

Amazing review! Actually I’ve been into the Paleo diet for quite a while now and I have attained some wonderful results. I have to say that Paleo is probably the best diet that I have tried in my life. I have read so many great reviews about this one and I hope more people can discover it and see for themselves. Here is the cookbook that I have been using.

My boyfriend brought home a book that a friend from work let him borrow, he showed it to me, I opened it to the page “The Paleo Lifestyle at a glance” and thought I could do this, I proceeded to sit down and read the entire book in one night. That was almost 4 weeks ago, I started this new life style the following day and have lost 18.5 pounds. I have been waiting my entire life for someone to explain to me in a simple way that makes sense of how to eat and exercise properly, you did it Mr. Seib, and I can’t thank you enough.

The funny thing is my boyfriend hasn’t adopted this way of life, and never even read the book but I’ve got his attention with my immediate results, after only two days on this diet I regained my neck, I had been suffering from a goiter thyroid very painful and it was gone instantly. That fuel me like nobodies business and I haven’t looked back since. I’ve been lucky to not really have any cravings or desires to “cheat”.

You (Sarah), Jason and the person who sent my guy home with this incredible book have changed my life forever and I will be eternally grateful. I thank you and my body thanks you for teaching me how to fuel it like it was designed to be fueled. I’ve never felt better and I joined a gym, those are huge words for me, I swore I’d never join a gym.

Thanks for all the wonderful receipts, I never thought I would be able to cook from scratch and I now cook every meal, and get so many compliments on how good of a cook I am. Wow I never thought I’d hear those words and the last thing I wanted to share is my 14 year old son has joined me in this life style and loves all the meals I’ve prepared from your receipts.

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

    Karen Marino
