Better Everyday Podcast | How Women Are So Uniquely Affected By Stress

Episode 3

Stress: we all know it’s bad, but the reality is there will be some so you need to know how to manage and minimize it. Most women have stress from various sources and it can even seem stressful just thinking about de-stressing. Tell an anxious, stressed woman to sit quietly and meditate and watch her cortisol climb! We know finances, relationships, overwhelm and traffic are stressful, but how about the stresses you don’t even know you’re enduring such as food sensitivities, blood sugar swings, electrolyte imbalances or nutrient deficiencies? Women are uniquely sensitive to all manner of stress in that our hormones get askew very easily. Women, including us, easily fall prey to the pressures of trying to do it all – and look good doing it.  We answer the question: can trying to be healthy stress you out even more? Sarah and Dr Brooke discuss how to keep your quest for health, a better body or following your passion from becoming sources of stress, why women are so susceptible to over doing it and how stress affects women’s hormones in so many interesting ways from PMS to sleep disruptions to breakouts and more. In this episode we will also cover some of our best stress busting tips and give you the inside scoop on how we personally manage our own stress which includes everything from mediating to laughing to watching TV (what??). Tune in, de-stress and learn how to be Better Everyday.

Kind of a lame comment but…BEST PODCAST EVER. I felt like you talking directly to me.
    Thank you for teaming up.

    1. Not lame at all! THANK YOU!!! This is exactly what we want to hear and yes we are absolutely talking directly to you! 😉

Re listened to the podcast and I wanted to add something a little more meaningful. It was so mentally helpful to hear what you women are doing for yourselves and what you are feeling right now. I feel alone in how I deal with, physically, mentally, and emotionally, and I felt connected to both you. I felt less ‘alone’. It helps to normalize these feelings of ‘never being enough’ because I just can’t give everything all my attention., that I keep overfilling my life ‘plate’ without removing a damn thing. We can tell our friends, students (in my case), clients (in your case), what to do but we don’t/can’t comply ourselves. It’s great to know that other great women like yourselves are/ have gone/ are going through similar battles. I wish none of had to go through it.
I look forward to your next podcast/conversation.
    Thanks so much!
