We are beyond excited to announce our first Better Everyday Women’s Retreat which will be hosted by Sarah Fragoso and Dr. Brooke! This event will be held April 20th-23rd at JS Strength & Conditioning in Chico, CA! The weekend will provide an intimate setting in which mind, body, and spirit will be nurtured and nourished. Dr. Brooke, Sarah Fragoso, and a team of expert presenters and coaches will be covering several topics including fatigue, hormones, finding your joy, as well as nutrition, fitness and everything else in between. Our goal for this retreat is to allow every attendee to leave feeling as if their specific needs as it pertains to health and wellness have been met and that all questions have been answered.

Sarah Fragoso
Eight years ago a new lifestyle emerged for Sarah that created much needed positive momentum. Dr. Brooke Kalanick
A licensed Naturopathic Doctor (ND) and functional medicine practitioner, Dr. Brooke attended Seattle, Washington’s Bastyr University, where she earned a Doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine and Masters in Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine. She has continued her learning in her areas of specialty – weight loss, women’s health and hypothyroidism – by studying and working with leading functional medicine physicians including Dr Datis Kharrahzian, Dr David Brady, and Dr Tori Hudson.
Prior to attending Bastyr, Dr. Brooke received a BA in biology from Seattle Pacific University and has a partially completed Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) from Washington State University.
She is well-versed in prescription medications, and takes a balanced approach to using both conventional and alternative therapies. Her areas of expertise include female health, hypothyroidism and autoimmunity with specialties in PCOS, Hashimoto’s, menopause and weight loss.
After graduation from Bastyr, Dr. Brooke was Director of Health and Wellness for a chain of fitness centers in Seattle. There she created and implemented a successful wellness and weight loss program and further developed her expertise in strength training and exercise.
Shortly after relocating New York City she co-authored her first book and continued to work closely with some of the most exceptional personal trainers in the business including Rob Sulaver of My Diet Is Better Than Yours (ABC) and Brett Hobel of The Biggest Loser (NBC). Dr Brooke was an original Advisory Board member of the premier fitness resource for women, Girls Gone Strong.
Dr Brooke has been a guest on Martha Stewart Living Radio, featured in the New York Times and is a consulted expert for a variety of print and online publications including iVillage, Women’s Health Magazine, FITNESS Magazine, Oxygen, Allure and Health Magazine.

Michele Laine
Michele Laine is a passionate entrepreneur and with her husband she owns two businesses, Prescott Logistics, LLC and Laine Consulting Services. Michele is also a Strength & Conditioning coach at JS Strength & Conditioning as well as a prolific blogger and author. She began her writing journey contributing articles for the popular website EverydayPaleo before creating her own blog InnerStrengthandBeauty, where today she shares her philosophies on life, health and wellness. She has just released her new book Stronger Than The Storm, which has become an Amazon International Bestseller. Michele lives in Chico, Ca with her husband and two beautiful daughters.

Jenny LaBaw
Jenny LaBaw has been an athlete her entire life. As a 3-sport collegiate athlete, she competed in soccer, indoor and outdoor track and field. Post college she found her need for competition fulfilled through endurance running races anywhere from 5K’s to marathons. Her competitive drive led her to CrossFit in 2010 where she started training to compete at the elite level. She’s a 2-time CrossFit Games competitor, earning 6th in 2012 and winning her Northern California Regionals in 2013. Although, she enjoys competing, Jenny’s true love is being outdoors mountain biking, hiking, waterskiing, snow skiing, camping and more with her boyfriend, Marcus, and two yellow labs, Ziggy and Pogo. With her love for sport and exercise, Jenny chose a career as a strength and conditioning coach so she could share her passion of health and fitness with others. Attending Cornell College, she earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Physical Education with an emphasis in Fitness and Wellness. She is a strength and conditioning coach at her own private studio and online. Her 10+ years of coaching experience has allowed her to work directly with a wide variety of people from children trying to discover their coordination to adults wanting to shed a few pounds to professional athletes looking to be the best in the world. No matter what walk of life you are coming to her from, her mission is to make you realize your potential and help get you there. She will prove to you that you can be stronger, more fit, and healthier than you think you can be. Lisa Weber
Lisa began practicing yoga 15 years ago while training for marathons with the intention of balancing the endurance training of running with the physical and mental benefits of yoga. During that time, Lisa discovered what yoga truly has to offer. Lisa is a Yoga Alliance Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) at the 200-hour level through Northern California Yoga Institute. Lisa’s teaching style is deeply rooted in the Integrative Dynamic Yoga (IDY) method. IDY blends classical yoga and meditation practices with contemporary exercise science and fitness methods to establish optimal health, wellness, fitness and spiritual awareness.
July 2015 will mark her 6th year of teaching. She currently teaches 19 classes a week including corporate yoga at Build.com, Sierra Nevada Brewing Company and Schoule, Inc. With each class it is Lisa’s intention to “serve-guide-inspire”…To serve participants by being fully present and engaged, to guide students in experiencing the full potential of each posture, and inspire them to express their greatness.

Traci Corbett
Traci Corbett currently works as a Wellness Coach for Kaiser Permanente and also coaches privately with WholeLifeLifted, where she helps people find their true and unique path to health and well-being.
Traci holds a Master of Social Work (MSW) degree as well as a BA in both Developmental Psychology and Exercise Physiology. Traci has worked professionally in Human Services for over 20 years in corporate, non-profit and government organizations, earning her a reputable identity as a holistic health specialist; She has a seasoned background in working with Children, Youth and Families and in the fields of Counseling, Education, Fitness and Nutrition. She holds a variety of certifications including NASM Certified Personal Trainer and CrossFit Level 1 Trainer, as well as an AFPA Holistic Nutritionist Certification.

June Kamerling
When June turned 50, she knew that she did not want to grow old being overweight and unhealthy. She started working out with a personal trainer and soon was inspired to become a personal trainer herself, followed by her Pilates training. June brings to her Pilates and personal training, years of bodywork experience, knowledge of the skeletal and muscular system, muscle testing (kinesiology), how each individual body is “supposed” to move, her experience working with many conditions such as repetitive strain injuries, chronic pain due to tension and old injuries.
June is fascinated by the human body…how we move, how we hold emotional patterns and habits which can affect our everyday well being, vitality and ability to move and be pain free. June has over 30 years experience in Neurokinetic Therapy (NKT), Lymphatic Drainage Therapy, and soft and deep tissue therapeutic massage.
June is fully certified in all Pilates apparatus through Balanced Body University, is a personal trainer through NCSF, FAMI certified through Kinected Pilates Studio in NYC, and certified in Pre-natal/Post-Partum Pilates. June has completed level 1 and 2 of Primal Pilates and is currently teaching Primal Pilates at El Cerrito Fitness. She will continue to study Primal Pilates at Absolute Center in Lafayette CA and expects to be certified through all levels.
