Better Everyday Podcast Episode #8: Listener Q&A – Collagen, Cellulite, Amenorrhea & Boundaries

This episode answers questions straight from you: our listeners! We cover taking collagen supplements and their effect on cellulite (could they actually make it worse??!!) and answer the question: can going Paleo cause you to lose your period? Our email has been bursting with glowing praise – thank you! One such email is from a long time fan of Sarah’s whose wife is suffering with trigger finger. We give some options for treatment and other things to investigate. And last but certainly not least is how to set boundaries, how to do it all and not do a bum job in any area: mom, wife, breadwinner. Hear what Sarah and Dr Brooke had to say to this woman who let’s face it, could’ve been Dr Brooke writing in.

Thank you so much for answering my boundaries question! This podcast came at a very critical time for me, and I am so appreciative that you took my question and answered it so well! I would like to report back to you that this episode inspired me to start a fun journal where I divided two pages per day into four sections: (1) a daily affirmation that I repeat to myself as often as I can throughout the day (today’s is: I can do anything I put my mind to); a “Wins!” section that allows me to write down all my wins, using Dr. Brooke’s “I get to” language, which helps me to maintain my positive energy throughout the day; (3) a “Struggles” section where I can write where I am struggling a bit with no judgment or guilt, but rather as an information point to learn from; and (4) an “Ideas!” section where I just jot down any good ideas that I hear on a podcast or in conversation or just pop into my head. At the end of the day, I look back at it and remind myself of all the good that came out of the day even if there was some “bad.” You really helped me to reframe my mindset and mindset is everything. Thanks to you, I spent an entire Monday afternoon with my 5 year old at a park and did not check my work phone once. A huge WIN!
