Christa Doran. From the outside looking in, it might look like she’s living her life, just like the rest of us; but she’s not. Christa is a strength and conditioning coach, a wife, a mother, and radiates joy with her infectious smile. But her story is truly beyond comprehension because as a parent, it’s a story that enters our minds from time to time but our survival instincts make us push that story out faster than the thought can even enter. It’s too much for us to sit with for any amount of time, but Christa lives this as her reality every single day.
Last year, Christa lost her 5-year-old daughter to DIPG (Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma). Christa courageously shared and continues to share her family’s journey on her blog and on social media, and the strength and perspective she offers, well let’s just say she is inspirational beyond explanation. During this episode, we talk about the importance of not waiting for something tragic to happen in order to show up for your life and how significant it is to get present to what you believe is most important in your life TODAY! We talk about how Christa coped and continues to cope, how this loss affected her relationship with her family, and how she is choosing to live her life now that her daughter is gone.
