In this episode we had ancestral health expert and registered dietitian Laura Schoenfeld! We get so many questions about what to do when a period has gone missing and how to get it back – if you even need to – so we devoted an entire show to this topic. We take a deep dive into the many causes of amenorrhea (lack of a period) specifically hypothalamic amenorrhea which is an issue in the brain more so than the ovaries or the uterus and often has stress as a root cause. That stress can come from dieting or over-exercise or a host of other sources. And together we provide a different look at how to use exercise to get a period back whereas most experts say no period, then no exercise.
