I didn’t have little girl dreams of big white weddings or Prince Charmings to save me.
Instead my nights were explosions of color.
Of being away from my small town.
Of running through the labyrinths of the world.
I saw myself standing on an expansive bright stage.
Still small, but my shadow giant from the spotlight.
I imagined being alone in a big city.
Soaking up power from the neon lights.
Soaking up power from being a part of something big.
Turning my little world of nothing into something.
