If you haven’t yet heard, there’s a new documentary in the works called, “In Defense of Fat: Rethinking the Bad Science Eating at America’s Health.” The film, created by Kennon Hulett of Falling Whale Films, will focus on obesity, nutrition, and the politics of health. Yesterday was a big day for “In Defense of Fat” with Kennon’s launch of a Kickstarter campaign to help with the creation of this important film.
I’m also pleased to announce that I have been asked to participate in the film, and I am honored to have the opportunity to do so. This documentary will bring together many of the most respected scientists, nutritionists, trainers and authors in the Paleo and Ancestral Health communities. In doing so, “In Defense of Fat” clarifies the complex relationship between human evolutionary history and the science – and politics – of nutrition and health.
The film is firmly rooted in current scientific research on Ancestral Health, a theory which proposes that the human body is not adapted to an agricultural diet, and especially not to the many processed foods in our daily lives. “In Defense of Fat” turns the microscope on media and medical research, deconstructing the “diet talk” that informs and misinforms while shaping our understanding of bodies, size, health.
Please help Kennon in her quest to help the public realize the importance of the ancestral movement as we all stand together “In Defense of Fat.”
Cant wait! I have only been eating Paleo for about 2 1/2 months and dropped 15lbs, was only really hoping for 10 🙂 I absolutely love eating this way as I’m never hungry now! I share your website with friends and family!
I am 53 (wish I would’ve started this much earlier in life) and couldn’t even walk down the stairs in the morning without waking everyone with my joints popping and creaking, just realized this morning that isn’t happening anymore, which I think I should contribute to the healthier fat intake!
So happy to have the word get out there in as many ways as possible! Everywhere I go I sing the praises of Paleo to anyone that will listen. I’ve been eating this way since October, and I feel great. Love eating all the yummy healthy fats and adore how they make my body feel!
Sarah, your story was so inspiring and so inspirational in my taking the 30 day challenge. I could relate to all you had to say. I lost my mother on Christmas eve of this last year, and I must say I’m not sure how I would have been able to handle it all if I were still only eating Gluten Free at that time. So I thank you from the bottom of my heart. I’m just one of many that you have reached…so far.
I started paleo in. Feb.this year and I absolutely love it.I don’t only look better, I also sleep better (insomnia for a long time ) I preach it when I am asked what I eat and I am very proud to be part of this healthy eating.I am looking forward to seeing the documentary. Please keep me posted.
Wow this is awesome! Can’t wait to see the documentary when it’s available.
