Featured Chef for U.S. Wellness Meats!

Thank you so much to U.S. Wellness Meats for inviting me to be their featured chef for the month of June!  When you have a chance, visit their site to see the recipes that I shared with them.  I was lucky enough to be able to create several meals using their products and I was extremely impressed and satisfied with the quality and taste of their meat.  Highly recommended!!

    Sarah,

I’ve been wanting to try US Wellness Meats for a while. I’m currently following a super strict autoimmune version of paleo and really watching my added sugars and nightshade spices. Do you know if their sugar free beef bacon is good? What do you usually order? I was thinking of stocking up on grass fed steaks and pork. Those seem to be the hardest things for me to find locally. Also, do you know how much grassfed ground beef is at TJ?
Thanks! I can’t wait for podcast 17. Also, I got your book yesterday. I’m enjoying it so far! I can’t make the majority of your recipes as is (need to modify for AI). This week I’m going to try curried cauliflower and lamb burgers!

Amanda, I buy the US Wellness sugar-free beef bacon & really enjoy it, very flavorful. To be honest, I’ve never had a beef bacon option before, just the standard pork bacon, so I don’t have anything to compare it to. I buy the ground beef too, and have to say it is some of the best beef I’ve ever cooked with. My husband enjoys the beef jerky plain, and my son loves the beef snack sticks. I also buy their ground pork and turkey. The ground turkey made some awesome burgers using this recipe: http://www.crossfiteastvillage.com/2011/01/24/green-chili-turkey-burgers/

Thanks Jeannine! I will definitely give the bacon a try. I can’t eat eggs right now (AI protocol) but I would like to add bacon to some of my veggie dishes.

Also, another good spot to buy beef jerky: http://www.grassfedjerkychews.com
(I like the plain, but LOVE the mild flavor! Highly recommend!!)
        🙂 Amanda

    2. Jeanine answered your US wellness meats questions like I would! TJ’s grass fed ground beef is $5.99 a lb if I remember correctly. : )

I can’t find the grass fed ground beef at TJs! WF sells local grass fed ground beef for 8.99 a lb!
